ia909
Hi all, I acquired a Tomix NAGARA 300 set (98021) recently that was advertised as a non-runner. When I opened up the motor car, there were no gear towers (i.e. worm gears), though the shaft from the motor and crown gears in the wheel sets are there. No I bought Tomix accessory JW0986 which I think is the right set of worm gears off the Tomix website but I can't find a way of clipping them onto the bogie. Did I miss something? Did I buy the wrong set? Photo attached. Thanks and regards Ian Link to comment
Gryphr
That looks right, the Tomix worm gears are not fixed to the bogies but to the frame. There is enough play between the worm gear and the topmost gear of the bogie to allow the bogie to rotate. You turn the worm gear boxes around (exposed side down) and put them on top of the bogies. The small plastic nips at the corners of the gear case fit into the recesses in the frame. The worm gears will be held in place (and onto the gears) by the interior/floor board once you clipped it back on. The picture in this blog shows how it should (approximately) look, minus the bogies: https://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/kikaiyasan_270/62980728.html Edited November 18, 2018 by Gryphr 1 Link to comment
