It was a cargo port before and one of the first buildings were the Fuji television building. I heard this on Discovery channel so might not be accurate. ps: Back then the residential highrise buildings were showcased as having 'futuristic technology' like elevators, central heating and trash collection pipes. 1 Link to comment
