railsquid
Typhoon injures 56; Tokyo train services after 8 p.m. canceled Wind just picking up here in the west of Tokyo. Unusually, stuff (railways, shops etc.) is being shut down preemptively. 3 Link to comment
railsquid
Well it's certainly living up to its promise. There was a small washout on the Hohi line in Oita Pref., apparently. Link to comment
Kiha66
At least the damage is smaller than the previous storms. Repairing the embankment should be much cheaper and quicker than the bridge replacements or larger washouts that have occurred. Glad to hear that no one was killed, and the amount of injuries are relatively small for a large storm. Link to comment
chadbag
My SIL in Kobe said the winds and rain were much less than the previous one. Link to comment

It happened mainly overnight, so the full extent may not yet be clear, though it does seem to have been more disruptive than destructive compared to 21. Certainly messed up the morning commute in the Tokyo area, a lot of JR lines didn't get going until around 8am and the Keio Line has only just restarted (ca. 9am) after a train ran over a wall which had fallen onto the tracks. 2 Link to comment
