Yosua_Christian
First, i'm sorry if my english grammar are bad. I'm going to make my very first n scale layout using Kato Unitrack and i'm confused with 'how ist the electrical system from my layout to turntable'. Can anybody here help me solve my problem? Does anyone know what thing I circled in this picture*? * source : http://www.katomodels.com/unitrackplan/plan_TT_68.shtml Link to comment
katoftw
The circle objects are isolators. They are placed there to block electrical current due to the extra power feeders being placed in those sections. 1 Link to comment
kvp
Generally you power the turntable and all the tracks that connect to it will be powered when they are selected. In the case above, the entry/exit tracks are opposite to 2 storage tracks. This means those two tracks will be powered every time anything is moved to or from the turntable from the mainline or yard. The easy fix is to never have any two tracks directly facing each other. The harder fix is to make these storage tracks selectable with power switches. Normally the main/yard has to be isolated too, since the turntable acts like a reversing loop and the polarity could be reversed. Assigning a dedicated throttle for the turntable in analog mode or an automatic reversing loop circuit in digital mode is a simple way to handle this. 1 1 Link to comment
