Hakone Tozan Fleet Upgrades

Hakone Tozan will add two additional sets of Allegra trains in May 2019 and 2020.  

 

Two sets of 2000 series will be upgraded in 201 and 2022 and with this the 100 series will be retired.

I have to agree with you there, I got to ride in the MoHa 2 when we went there in 2015 and I can certainly say that adds to the nostalgic charm and fits in with the narrative of being the sister railway of the RhB having the Japanese equivalent of an ABe 4/4 running along the line, the introduction of more 3000 Series units will destroy that old world charm that the line has.
