gmat
These are some of the trains passing next to Hama-Kawasaki Station (Nambu Line) and from the same station on the Tsurumi Line to Anzen Station. The Beitan Tanker consist usually runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The DE-11 will appear when the Beitan runs but sometimes not on the other days. There is an overpass to the North of the station, so the locos are in shadow close to the station. Watch the crossing before the station to when to get ready to shoot. This one is coming from the east. There is a yellow flashing signal light in front of the platform. That lets you know a train is coming from that direction. That's it at the bottom of the picture. This is the DE-11 coming first at 8:39. An EF-65 with the hoppers at 8:44. From 8:00 t0 almost 9:00 two 205s run Shitte to Hama-Kawasaki Station. This one will park at the Tsurumi Line Maintenance Yard next to Bentembashi Station. It used to park on the siding on the left for a while before doubling back. More to come. Kiha66
Great shots! It seems that on a lot of new rolling stock headlights are no longer for looking ahead at night and more for alerting others of the trains presence. Link to comment
gmat
The Station is split into two halves and this is the crossing. Notice that this portion is the Tsurumi Branch Line. (尻手支線) The Beitan passing thru at 12:35. The DE-11 heading towards Anzen Station at 12:28. Anzen Station. More later, Grant 2 Link to comment
gmat
The siding where the tank cars are parked is almost right in front of the station. DE-11 pulling a consist from the fuel depot. The DE-11 reverses and backs the consist into a siding. Here comes the EF-65 at about 1:30. More to come. Grant 2 Link to comment
gmat
This is the crossing on the Tsurumi Station side of Anzen Station. Anzendori Crossing. From across the street. This is the crossing next to Anzen Station. It is on the far side (Hama-Kawasaki side) of Musashi Shiraishi Station. The freigh tracks runs behind the station so it might be better to shoot from outside of the station. This was taken on another day it shoes it arriving from Hama-Kawasaki. More to come. gmat
Between Musashi Shiraishi and Hama-Kawasaki there is Takeshita crossing. Taken from Hama-Kawasaki (Tsurumi) Station. You can also shoot it from the steps on the far side of the tracks. That's all for now. Next I'll have stuff from Odasake and Hatchonawate Stations. katoftw
Thanks for sharing your photos. Question for anyone. Why and the wheels and bogies covered on the DE11? Link to comment
miyakoji
Great photos Grant. I have a few pics from this area from 2005 or 2006, but not this many and not this good :) In the sixth picture of the first post, are those UM12 containers behind EF65 2096 likely to carry garbage? Link to comment

They are used to reduce noise. An Odakyu 3000 series, was experimentally fitted with these skirts in 2002, but they were later removed. http://www.allaboutjapantrains.com/uploads/1/3/0/8/13086271/7197507_orig.jpg Link to comment
gmat
Miyakoji, Yes, you are correct. That's the early morning 'garbage' train for the waste collection site near Kawasaki City. It returns very late in the afternoon. Am off to shoot stuff today. Will post more tonight. I've been sorting my daily pics by locations/stations/crossings so I've been busy. Grant Link to comment
