cteno4
Tomytec is releasing a new years scenery addition for the shinto shrine. They are also re-releasing the shinto shrine sets along with some additions to make a Hatsumode (New Years) Festival celebration. price is going up about 1200Y for the additions. basically adding the new years set to the shinto shrine as one set http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10096013a/20/1 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10096012a/20/1 also three small bridges http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097931 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097932 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097933 and a japanese garden. i hope it looks better than it does in this photo. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097934 and borrowed from bill's post elsewhere: 3 Tomytec churches. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097925 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097926 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097927 There are also 3 sets of 'people in the wedding' to do an 'American style' wedding which are popular in spite of Japan being a country where the prime religions are Shinto, Buddhism, and Confucianism. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097928 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097929 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10097930 cheers jeff Link to comment
Guest ___
Is it me, or is Tomy become very aggressive with the sheer number of new products they are releasing recently? Link to comment

cteno4
They seem pretty steady of releasing a few items every month and seem to have a plan to spread it out among the lines they have established. some of the last year's speed has been by re-releasing older stuff or repackaging items into different combos (like the new car sets or the individual blgs from the building collections). it is nice, i hope they can keep up the momentum and the channels can handle the inventory, but if it sells well enough it establishes its own little market then! i think they have been smart to do what they can to capture a number of markets (the collectors, diorama folks, and train modelers) with their products. this requires them to have to be more strategic about what they make then and i expect can cause a few odd things like the church and wedding sets coming out that may make the train modelers scratch their heads! cheers jeff Link to comment
Guest ___
works for me, because the overall vast majority of my scenery and buildings is TomyTec. I think the only thing on the layout that isn't Tomytec is the track and power supply. Link to comment

cteno4
Nope! As I recall, you're also short a few motorcycles, too :P well thats only because i bought like 6 boxes and sold off a few of the motorcycles to you! i do have some i kept for myself! wanted the bikes and scooters more than the motorcycles! also am missing some of the trucks and busses as i have horse traded those off to others for more of one kind or gotten rid of a few i just did not need/want... i am not enough of a collector to have to have the complete sets on the vehicles! i would be in big trouble if that were true! cheers jeff Link to comment

cteno4
Hollywood has that effect on people. Well I guess we can count ourselves lucky that Tomytec is not following hollywood or all of the structures and vehicles would have an explosion feature and the figures would be shooting and maiming each other (or having an affair)... me cynical about hollywood?! cheers jeff Link to comment
