I mostly get around by bicycle nowadays so can't say much about the progress in installing platform barriers.

Wonderful.

I only really realised how annoying these things were when I tried to take a photo of an E235 series last year.

I used to be annoyed by them, but platforms with doors feel so much safer when you have a small child in tow.

Increasing numbers on the Ginza line, and obvious preparations on the Keihin-Tohoku where it parallels the Yamanote.

 

I wonder if the Yamanote/Chuo-Sobu platforms at Shinjuku will be finished by 2020...
