ronin
I was hoping for some details on the similarities and differences between these set of the Rapi:t. I saw some comments about the earliest version possibly being a poor runner. Is this true? If so, were any mods made to the later releases that improved the product? I know the car #s are different between the sets, but looking for any other differences. Oh, and I am aware of an A0752 set, but that is a different color scheme. I'm focused on the solid blue versions. Thanks, Eric Edited September 15, 2017 by ronin Link to comment
Gordon Werner
A0750 = Blue - 2004 release - http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10037236 A0751 = Blue - 2004 release - http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10037237 A0752 = Blue - 2015 release - http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10308647 A0753 = Peach (White/Pink) - 2015 release - http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10308650 AFAIK the 2015 versions received: a. new power unit w/flywheels b. LED lights c. improved trucks even if the 2004 ones ran only ok ... the new ones should run much much better, using their improved power unit. While I do not have any of these sets, I do have the 2 Keihan 800 series releases which came out in 2014 using their new power unit ... they run spectacularly so I would imagine that the same will be true for the Rapi:t sets Link to comment
cteno4
Older ones ran pretty well, albeit with rapido couplers. As usual, I lube my microase if make any noise and that gets them running well. My 2004 has gotten a lot of run time over the years at shows (it's very popular)and now is a little cranky, so it's reached the point of needing an overhaul as most trains do at this point of age and use. Luckily more members of the club have them now so it's not needed as much. I think there are 4 peach units now in the club! New ones run very well as well! jeff Link to comment
