railsquid
Per suggestion from Azumanga Davo... I'll kick off with: anything from Hankyu. The livery's nice but the trains all look the same. Link to comment
Socimi
Boring stuff from northern italy: TSR (Treno servizio regionale - Train for Regional Services) https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2c/Treno_TSR_livrea_Trenord.JPG Used one evry. single. damn. suburban line. It's just the average double-decker EMU that you'll find anywhere in europe. "Vivalto" double-decker coaches https://www.ipdt-community.it/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/238-Teo.jpg Same matter of the TSR, again It's just the average double-decker coach that you'll find anywhere in europe (Germany uses nearly identical coaches) E464 Electric locomotive. http://www.trainsimsicilia.net/galleriafoto/albums/userpics/10019/DSC_0899.JPG They are evrywhere! 730 units and counting! This is probably the only passenger locomotive that youll' ever see in all of italy. (except for the E402 series) Edited July 15, 2017 by cteno4 Link to comment
railsquid
At least you still have passenger locomotives... Come to think of it, the Siemens Desiro / Bombardier Talent families of multiple units seem to be pretty omnipresent these days. 1 Link to comment
Sacto1985
I think the Shinkansen--especially between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka--is starting to get boring. It's now mostly N700 variants with a small number of 700's running Hikari and Kodama service. At least from Shin-Osaka to Hakata, you get shorter N700-8000's in Sakura/Mizuho service, 500's in Kodama service, and 700's in Hikari Rail Star livery in Kodama service in addition to the (mostly) N700's in Nozomi service. I miss the days between 2000 and 2010 when we had 300's, 500's, and 700's in Nozomi service and 0 Series and 100's in Hikari/Kodama service between Tokyo and Hakata. 4 Link to comment
sandiway
Boring is different from ugly. When those Hankyus are lined up at the Umeda terminus, it's truly a beautiful sight. A bit like a parade of soldiers. I find the Kintetsu trains pretty ugly on the Kyoto to Nara line. They're not the same, but they're so ugly. I haven't collected any Kintetsu despite them not being all the same and taking them a couple of times a week over the period of about a year. No nostalgia there. 1 Link to comment
Sacto1985
Alas, I think the Jōetsu Shinkansen line could start to get boring within a few years after the E4's leave service. I've read that JR East may replace the E4's with more E7 trainsets, given that the newer-build E2's will likely stay mostly on the Tōhoku line up to Koriyama and Morioka. Link to comment
Densha
Come to think of it, the Siemens Desiro / Bombardier Talent families of multiple units seem to be pretty omnipresent these days. In the Netherlands almost all private operators up until now have been using Stadler GTW/FLIRT units and now even the national train operator started doing so. Especially the GTW units are very boring, but so are FLIRTs. You will also see these trains a lot in Germany and Switzerland. On the other hand, we will be getting biofuel-battery-electric hybrid FLIRT variants in a few years that look interesting from a technical perspective. Link to comment

ToniBabelony
Odakyu 3000 types are IMHO by far the most boring ones with the exception of the 3500 types with their massive doors: Too many of these uninspired containers rolling around. Edited July 16, 2017 by Kabutoni 3 Link to comment

JR 500系
The Odakyu 3000 is indeed as boring as it gets! It's not restricted to trains in Japan only, right? Can I nominate our Sillypore's Mass Rapid Transit? Original video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBx9pd7ALl4 by glitchFan2428 Boring, you only get 2 liveries, and ugly... not to mention the high frequency of breakdowns... Claude_Dreyfus
Depends what is meant by 'boring'. If you are talking about the same class of train, in exactly the same livery, for the last 15 or so years, then my route takes some beating. We only get class 377s, they only carry Southern livery. 377408 by Claude_Dreyfus, on Flickr Nice scenery though, and the livery is smart. Link to comment
Shinkansenrailfan
To add-on, our MRT system (Sinkapore) is a pain to board everyday. Crappy fleet and frequent daily disruptions Link to comment

kvp
How about 45 years - Bay Area Rapid Transit, not so rapid as there are constant breakdowns. Hungarian BDt+Bhv+By+BDh commuter rakes. The same cars and paint scheme since 1954. (they are general purpose push-pull cars for steam, diesel and electric locomotives painted solid blue) Actually they are my favourites as you can run almost any locomotive with them regardless of train and locomotive type and mostly epoch (ep. 3,4,5,6). 1 Link to comment
Wonderbolt
In the UK Any sprinter unit, especially the 150s with their horid have to face strangers seating layout. Class 66s which are everywhere and meh. Voyagers to are boring. Link to comment
Densha
I also want to add the JR East E231/E233/E235 and other series based off these to the list. They are not necessarily ugly, but there just being so many of them makes things a bit boring. So is the case with JR West 221/223/225/227 series and JR Tokai 313 series. 3 Link to comment
Suica
To be honest, I find our ICE 1 and ICE 2 pretty boring. The design is just so... German(?) It serves a purpose. Nothing fancy. Nothing special. 2 Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
Almost anything put out by J-TREC- even the name of the company reflects it. Nippon Sharyo comes in second, example see the previously mentioned Odakyu unit. Makers west of the Tokai region have more character in their designs. Link to comment

Hi Densha, since you're a moderator - I am requesting that you please edit and remove the "JR Tokai 313 Series" from your post. Thank you! :) I do agree that most of the contemporary stainless steel / aluminum bodied trains with a stripe are pretty boring but are at least varied somewhat in front end design. Link to comment
