Help identifying a train!

Hi All

 

Not sure if this is the most appropriate forum but here goes...

 

My son was given a train as a gift which is his favourite toy. He lost it last week and i'm struggling to identify it to find a replacement. The person who gave it thinks it was Japanese but cant remember much else as it was given to him many years ago. Any help would be much appreciated.

I doubt it's a Japanese toy maker product because it's a model of a (French) TGV.

Thanks, ive been calling it a TGV but he thought it was a shinkansen. That'll help tracking it down though, cheers.

Looks more like a Korean version of the TGV, the KTX due to the more rounded nose, with a fantasy livery. Probably an unlicensed Chinese toy.

I tried a Google image search, but all it came up with is toy guns . . .
