The region cannot get a break.  I cannot see this line and bridge getting fixed in a hurry.

Hope it will get fixed soon and that the region will get a break sometime. I learned to never underestimate the Japanese and their resilience.

It's a real pity that this region has copped a hiding, we travelled along the Kyudai Mailine on the Yufuin No Mori when we were there in April and it was beautiful countryside.

Almost exactly a year!  While it took a while, I'm glad it was repaired and not used as an excuse for abandonment like so many lines.  I wonder if the ridership will manage to recover from the lapse in service.

Bridge was installed the other day, looks like repairs are moving along swiftly.

New webpage just for the reopening.  Aim to promote tourism back to the area.  Although with the Yufuin no Mori going back down the full length of the Kyudai Line, I'm sure tourist from China and S.E.Asia will come flooding back.  (No pun intended).
