yakumo381
Found this on You-Tube, EH500-901 being taken into the works for "remodelling". Anyone know the story behind this? 1 Link to comment
miyakoji
As this was the prototype EH500 and the work is being done at Toshiba, I wonder if it's being modified to match production specification. Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
According to one tweet, it's being modified for assignment to the Moji Locomotive depot in Kyushu, as a fill-in for the EF81 fleet there that are undergoing a 2 year electrical upgrade programme. The 901 is scheduled to be released from Toshiba Fuchu on Aug. 2nd. 2 Link to comment
Sacto1985
The EH500 can use both 1,500 V DC and 20,000 V AC 50/60 Hz overhead power. As such, this locomotive is well-suited for operations on Kyushu and western Honshu. 1 Link to comment
