Hopefully the posties won't be on strike anymore by then... Link to comment
Tony Galiani
Been eyeing that set - Ishizuchi - myself after returning from Shikoku. Saw them at Takamatsu but didn't get the opportunity to ride them on my recent trip. On my list to ride it on my next visit there and thinking I should order one of those sets as well. Cheers, Tony Link to comment

Maybe this is what you saw? I took this pic after travelling between Matsuyama and Takamatsu during my Spring 2024 Shikoku Rail Pass journey. I've just pre-ordered an Ishizuchi and Shiokaze from Ami Ami. JR Shikoku 8000 Series Limited Express Ishizuchi at Takamatsu Station (April 2024) Link to comment
Tony Galiani
Looks like it. Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures of it. Wish I was back there! Really enjoyed our stay on Shikoku. Haven't pre-ordered but want to get the three car set. Tony Link to comment
disturbman
With MA, better to pre-order sooner rather than later. Quantities are always very finite and popular trains might become hard to find depending with whom you are pre-ordering. Speaking of the JR Shikoku 8000 Series. The TRA has an EMU800 painted in its modern livery and Sanying will be releasing a model of it. Always love how the TRA and Japanese railway companies collaborate to make special promotional liveries. Link to comment
Tony Galiani
@disturbman - Okay then - I was on the fence as I have not pre-ordered before but thinking there is a first time for everything. I see more trips to Shikoku in the future so I guess my pre-ride planning should include some pre-orders for the trains. Thanks, Tony Link to comment
