disturbman
Maybe we could put this type of information in the same old thread... the one about microace. They are also releasing some DE11 (which I'm a lot more enthousiastic about) for the same tentative date. :) Link to comment

Fenway Park
One of the releases is for a 15 car set of Kyushu coal hoppers Sera1 and Semufu to go with the 9600 49654. All will have the yellow band. This means they are restricted to 65 kmh max. I have also found a photo of them being hauled by an ED72 and an ED73. Link to comment
Fenway Park
Here is the photo with the ED73 but with a different brake van. Link to comment

clem24
New Products ● A0022 Series 215 6-Car Set 24,675 yen ● A0023 Series 215 4-Car Add-on Set 13,755 yen Whoa what is this? A split up/re-release of their old 215 Shonan Liner/View Yamanashi train or is this new tooling? Also what's with those insane prices?!? I think the old 10 car set had MSRP less than this 6 car set! Reruns● A0840 Series 789 "Super Hakucho" 5-Car Set 16,800 yen ● A0843 Series 789 "Super Hakucho" 3-Car Add-on Set 8,925 yen Any info on this? I assume it'll look the same as the old model but with an updated mechanism similar to 789-1000 Airport? Man why can't they just sell me the new mechanism... Arrrrgggghhhh!!!!! Eagerly anticipating the release of the HOT7000!!! Link to comment
David
I might just end up ordering the 9600 and coal car set. Steam era freight is just too cool to pass up ;) I already have several 9600, but I will have to wait and see - I bought some of the previous little coal cars when it was a set of 2, and they have big pizza cutter wheels. Not a problem on most track, but the short wheel base makes it really obvious when the wheels go (up and) over the frog on a Kato #4 switch. If the 15-car set uses newer Bachmann blackened low profile wheels I'll buy it even if the unit price is higher then Microaces previous release. Link to comment

The problem with the switch is probably the same as with the Peco models, as the wheels drop into the gap immediately before the frog. I have used a small triangle of old film stock to pack up this drop on a couple of switches and this cures the problem. Anus Link to comment
clem24
I also might like to add.. They couldn't have timed the release of the 215 set any better. I've search for the 10 car set for the past, I don't know HOW long, at least 5-6 years. After a few screw ups trying to acquire one, I finally got one last month. And now they release a new version. FML. Link to comment
disturbman
there up on hs now prices seem correct That's because the price given here are MA prices. Retailers usually sell those 15/20% off. No need to get overworked. :) Link to comment

Martijn Meerts
They sure are doing a lot of re-releasing these days.. Which isn't really a bad thing of course, always nice being able to get models you missed the first time around. Link to comment

Those insane prices are the ones you never pay on Internet, as usual take off 20%. Look again... That's Y36,600 before tax LIST for a 10 car set. Y29,280 discounted. To put this into perspective - the original 215 ten car set was Y21,000. This new set is a whopping Y15,600 more. This better be a very special re-release! Link to comment
keitaro
There was a post on mixi group about this I found. Not sure how accurate it was but basically updated detail on car and obviously better running performance ? anyway it can get optional lights ... for that price i would be wanting them to be included. I guess they are miling there re-releases for extra $$$ due to knowing alot of people want them. Thats how the wife translated the page anyway. if they ever release the kegon express again i can see that being really pricey $$$ but i will have to pay it becasue i am desperate to get it. Which isn't really a bad thing of course, always nice being able to get models you missed the first time around. That's what I say on an American forum I'm on, I have more Santa Fe F7's than I'll ever need and would like manufacturers to have a go at something different but a Santa Fe modeller starting out today will still want them. I've been waiting years for Micro-Ace to rerun those 4 wheel coal hoppers. Link to comment

LOL How much more detail can you put on a train that is mainly comprised of double deck cars and no underbody detail hahaha. For that price, I am expecting a train of Tomix HG quality (since this thing costs even MORE than an equivalent HG model). So definitely SHOULD come with body mount couplers and end car details like toilet tanks and whatever else. And what kind of optional lights..? Other than interior lighting, what more can they possibly have? Anyway if it wasn't so much $$$ I'd totally put in a pre-order but man oh man... Link to comment
