Rod.H
What's the chassis that matches the body of their Kiha54 as I'm not happy with what's fitted to the one I have. It's noisy and randomly derails for no apparent reason. I'm thinking of replacing it with one of their coreless chassis, but I'm not certain of what one it is, though I'm leaning to this one http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10392857 Also is there an light unit available to make the head/tail lights in the other cab function? kvp
According to the Tomytec train collection page, the matching motor unit for the kiha54 is a TM-16, which is a 20.5 meter unit: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10311064/50/1 You suggested this one, a 21 meter greenmax unit: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10392857/20/1 Link to comment
Densha
I suspect Rod has a GreenMax KiHa 54, although it may be a good idea to have him confirm that himself first. KiHa 54 are 21.3m long units. The lengths Tomytec uses for their power unit often don't make sense. For power unit replacements you also need to look into the axle distance. I'm not sure whether GreenMax has coreless motors with the correct axle distance for a KiHa 54. Link to comment
Rod.H
It's certainly a Greenmax one, specifically this one http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10210646 Link to comment
