katoftw
Has anyone brought a new Tomix Shinkansen recently? My 800-2000 had a new power coupler. It is more of a clip in latch system than the old hook in hole system. The hook in hole system was a near impossible mission to couple up the cars. But this newer system is a breeze. It'll post up some photos of new and old soon. Edited April 14, 2017 by katoftw Link to comment

Yavianice
My H5 and E6 Shinkansen both have this type of coupler. I personally find it a bit hard to connect the cars without lifting it and holding a finger to the "hook" part while shoving in the "hole" part, or they will go to the side. I found the old hook and hole system easier as you just make sure the hook is above the hole. Or am I doing it wrong? Edited April 14, 2017 by Yavianice 1 Link to comment
kvp
Same problem here with a series 0. The two pieces have to be absolutely aligned in line to connect without just moving away to the side. Link to comment

You don't need to aim using a fingernail. And the don't push to the side on you. I'll be converting all my other Shinkansens if the part is available to buy separately. I haven't investigated.
