Kb4iuj
Have been here for a few days now and just saw two BNSF AC4400 locomotives and train in the downtown area holding up foot traffic. Lots of tourist. I did find an old IC railroad caboose over in Gretna across the river along with two what appear to be some SD40's of the New Orleans & Gulf Coast railroad. Just google these and click on image. If you like to drink and don't mind the bumpy poorly maintained roads of the Garden Dist. This is a city where code enforce is iffy at best. There are direct flights from Heathrow. But, there's always something to look at here. Like, watch your step so that you don't hurt yourself. Thus, don't wait til June, as It does get a bit toasty here nx just know that SPF 50 stuff is what you want to buy at home before getting here. However, the best viewing while riding Amtrak is from Memphis to New Orleans leg vs the New Orleans to Memphis. Actually, probably wise just to plan out six months to a year. But, anything you buy here in the states should be mailed home. Just to lighten your load for travel. Edited April 10, 2017 by Kb4iuj Link to comment
Kb4iuj
Also, riding Amtrak at times it's a really bumpy jostling ride. Do the passenger trains in Jspan, do they bounce around any ? Link to comment
