Kb4iuj
Does anybody know if on that big Tomix Track planning thing if there is a 1/150 on its edge? 1 Link to comment
bill937ca
If there is a rule on the track planning template it would be metric (mm). I use Japanese metal rulers from HS for most of my planning and stickers. Edited February 27, 2017 by bill937ca Link to comment
cteno4
Really close is 2mm equals 1' scale (w/in 2%). You can print one out here https://printable-ruler.net/scale-rulers/ http://www.blocklayer.com/scale-rule.aspx Or buy one WARNING THIS ONE DOES NOT HAVE 1/150 ON IT! http://www.ebay.com/itm/300mm-1-150-1-200-1-250-Triangular-Metric-Scale-Ruler-For-Engineer-Multicolor-/201601156917?hash=item2ef05d8735:g:TicAAOSwyjBW8J~J Jeff Edited March 26, 2017 by cteno4 1 Link to comment
velotrain
Just a warning - I ordered the ruler on eBay as it seemed like a good deal, and it would have been - if the listing was accurate! The ruler they sent is very nice, but it does NOT have a 1:150 scale as they claim it does. It has 100, 200, 250, 300, 400, and 500 - but no 150 ! I told them I wanted a ruler that does have 1:150 ASAP, or I'll tell eBay their listing is false. We'll see what happens. Link to comment
cteno4
I just got mine yesterday and same thing! Bummer, but they refunded my money when I contacted them. Jeff Link to comment
velotrain
Well, I decided to first see if they can correct the situation - which I tend to doubt. They must have written the listing using Chinese ratios ;-) Still hard to comprehend getting that wrong? Oh, the irony of it - the missing scale is the only one I cared about! Link to comment
sandiway
The Tomix stencil is at 1/10 and has the straights etc. on an edge. And a regular mm ruler on the bottom. Link to comment
cteno4
Three sheep design has a small one in m and ft for 300¥. Sadly currently back ordered. I got one and it’s nice but being just etched metal it’s a bit hard to read. I many try some contrast paint in the etched bits. jeff Link to comment

cteno4
Actually probably too fine of etched grooves for them except for the paint markers. I was just going to try some enamel paint to see if any would work and do the printers plate thing of just burnishing the paint into the etched areas and clean off the surface. With the fine paint marker marker I could do the half marks a different color though! Jeff Link to comment

RogerMc
Be careful, I think the multicolor one is incorrectly stated as having 1:150. The silver one does have it, GREAT find! Link to comment
cteno4
Only problem is they are metric, not English. Sadly pretty hard to get an English 1/150 scale. Few printable ones but most are metric. 2mm to the foot is pretty close. jeff Link to comment
maihama eki
A photo of all of my n scale rulers. Sadly, I thought I may have even more different ones, but today I could only lay my hands on these 3. The one in the front - stainless steel, is a the very common (in the U.S.) General model railroad ruler. It has several scales - "N GAGE"1/160 is on the back - in English units (feet). It is readily available online from many places. I think some others sell a very similar one with their name on it. The one in the middle is an architect's scale from Bocianelli. It has a variety of scales including 1:150 - in Metric (meters). It was on Amazon ... but maybe no longer https://www.amazon.com/Professional-Metric-Triangular-Aluminium-Metal/dp/B00C67VD4C/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 The one in the back is from Modemo. It has both 1/150 and 1/160 - in Metric (meters). Hobby Search https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10213586 Edited August 5, 2019 by maihama eki 3 Link to comment
cteno4
Amazon still has a metric 1/150 triangle scale https://www.amazon.com/Honbay-Aluminum-Triangular-Scale-Engineering/dp/B072QZF829/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=1%2F150+scale+ruler&qid=1565040410&s=gateway&sr=8-3 Jeff Link to comment
Szdfan
Are there any 1:150 scale rulers out there? If not, what do you use or how do you calculate dimensions? Link to comment
MeTheSwede
I use a normal ruler and divide by 1,5. 1 Link to comment
gavino200
There are a lot out there marked in N-scale feet/inches . I don't see any that are metric, which I would prefer. Link to comment

I probably knew that at one stage. Personally the difference is too minimal for me to care about. But I get that it's very important to many people. Edited May 9, 2021 by gavino200 Link to comment
