Thankyu6300
Hi I recently primed some cars and the came out quite furry, anyone suggest how I can fix this. I did it out doors an it was a hot day and I think it had something to do with it. They have a rough sandy texture Link to comment

HantuBlauLOL
thin the paint and do it again.. looks like the plastic were dirty before you painted it. i don't think sunlight caused that. Link to comment
cteno4
Yes wash the parts well with soapy water and a soft tooth brush before painting and dry it well. What did you use for paint and how did you apply it (i.e. Air brush or spray paint can. The blobs kind of look like a spray Ian where the nozzle is clogging or as hantu mentioned too thick of paint in an airbrush. With any spraying you want to make sure you are applying light coats. With spray cans this means you have to waste a lot on smaller things as you need to hold the part back a bit (varies with the nozzle on the can and the consistency of the paint) so the coat is light and paint droplets are spread out (too many close together hitting hard form blobs and rough surface). Martijn Meerts
This can also happen when airbrushing when you use a compressor that can't keep the air pressure even. Or if you use those cans of compressed air for the airbrush, for longer spraying sessions they get really cold and the airflow goes down the drain. Link to comment
Thankyu6300
Thank for the replies and tips guys. I made sure the model was clear prior to spraying and I was applying light coats as well. I was using tamiya primer from a can Link to comment
Rod.H
It's also possible that it was hot enough for the paint to dry while it was in transit from the spray can nozzle to the model. I've had that happen while painting on a 34-40C day but that was with a different paint brand. 1 Link to comment
