bill937ca
I found another Hiroden Tomytec model the other day. It's a 1000 Greenmover LEX. This blog has photos along with the 1000 PICCOLA issued later. http://crimson.blog.jp/archives/1894632.html N-Gauge Information links: http://www.jp-ngauge.info/ngi/2014/02/post-4403.html http://www.jp-ngauge.info/ngi/2014/02/tomytec2014-8d8e.html Edited March 15, 2018 by bill937ca Link to comment
Densha
IIRC I already posted about the Tomytec special release Greenmover LEX before. Because Kato has now announced that they're doing the LEX as well, you could consider the Tomytec model obsolete anyways. Link to comment
bill937ca
An interesting video of Hiroden trams taken in January 2017 on a dead end street leading to a tram only bridge. It seems to early morning with some small vans making quick stops at local businesses. I'm surprised the new cars haven't cleared out more of the old cars. But it just be line 3 which has very heavy AM rush. Edited March 15, 2018 by bill937ca 1 Link to comment

My thinking is that Tomytec will reissue the Greemover LEX. By 2027 it will be 40 cars and the largest single tam fleet of the same design in Japan. Can't see Tomytec passing that market up. katoftw
I didn't know that Kato are doing a Hiroden Type 5000. Can someone post up a link please? I've searched the Kato website and HS and found nothing. Link to comment
Densha
Kato isn't doing the 5000 type 'Green Mover', but they are doing the 1000 type 'Green Mover LEX'. 1 Link to comment

bill937ca
Hiroden is retiring trams 351 and 353 and has announced a last photo session. https://www.hiroden.co.jp/topics/2023/0305-350event.html?fbclid=IwAR1cF6V97JwyBtgtagE8BALbBDIgZT50_lBNQj3iz0K5hCHyhCjc8HbIjGE These have been offered in the past by Tomytec. Perhaps a re-run? But being Japan there is a stipulation of no tripods or stepladders at the photo session. And there is participation fee of 7,000 Yen. And there is participation fee of 7,000 Yen. Expand If it's in daylight, tripods are more and more useless with the new cameras. Taking the example of the comparison between my 12-years old Canon EOS 550D my new Olympus OM-1, it's day & night. I was able to shoot in Montreal Cathedral at quite low speed (1/40 s) and low ISO (600) with a incredible result. Simply no blur and lots of details. Now I got my new lens (Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-100 mm f/4 IS PRO), when the stabilized lens & the 5-axes stabilized sensor are working together in perfect sync, it's even easier (down do 1/20 ... sometimes 1/10 in ISO 600). So I let you imagine in daylight. For sure, ladder ... nothing can be done by your camera unless you got a drone. Link to comment
