Sascha
A friend of mine would like to know what train this is, and on what line it drives, and if there is a model out. Hope y'all can help. Thanks. Link to comment
Socimi
I think it's a Sanriku 36-700 series. They operate on the Third-Sector Sanriku line. http://transnet.client.jp/train_gallery/sanriku/img01/san36-700_004.jpg 1 Link to comment
bill937ca
It's a Niigata Engineering NDC Railcar which is widely used by local lines. I can't find photo or video confirmation of the wrap. If it is Sanriku 36-700 series, it has been issued by Tomix but I don't see it in that wrap. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10292244 Edited January 9, 2017 by bill937ca 1 Link to comment
bill937ca
Found it. It's a Niigata Engineering NT-3000 on the Kinkawa Railroad (Japanese Wikipedia page). The green car is #NT-3003. It,s a nature based wrap. http://netrain.makibisi.net/trainphoto/yamaguchi/nishikigawa/NT3000.htm http://www.tetsuyukan.com/soukouon/koei3seku/nishikigawa/nishikigawa.html http://www.tetsuyukan.com/soukouon/koei3seku/nishikigawa/2.jpg I don't see any models offered in N scale. Google images. Edited January 9, 2017 by bill937ca 3 Link to comment

bill937ca
It starts with knowing which builder built the train. Then Wikipedia (Japanese or English) points me in the right direction. Then I search Google images until I find something that matches. Next is links or videos that confirm. Link to comment
ToniBabelony
It'd be awesome if Tomytec would choose this generation of Niigata NDC models for a Railway Collection series. There are dozens of variants around and it definitely would sell. Most of them sport interesting liveries and/or run on relatively popular and/or famous lines, as well as Tomytec already has done different models of a few of these companies. Link to comment
