How about some Keihan?

The new Premium Car. Not many people rode this, but I think it's well worth the extra cost if you ride the whole line, especially during rush hour.

5000 & 7200 series at Kuzuha station. I only noticed the amazing afterglow after taking the photo. I've never seen such colours before.

Oh wow! The premium car looks great! Were you guys the only people riding it? It looked empty... Did you have to pay a lot more over the usual cars?

Not only was the afterglow amazing, the sunset pink and purple in the background is memorising too...

It was just two friends, me and two ladies.

Depending on how far you ride, the premium car ticket costs between 440 and 500 yen on top of the standard fare.

I noticed on my last trip the premium car is fairly empty in the middle of the day, but quite full in peak hours times.  Cannot tell you about early morning or late evening though.

I have reached a point where big cities aren't all THAT interesting to me anymore. I just prefer to ride some trains through the Inaka.

@HankyuDentetsu Glad you like them!

Speaking of Hankyu, my favourite private railway company, here's a little tip for everyone visiting the Osaka area. Go take a ride on Hankyu's subsidiary Nose Electric Railway to the rural countryside on some former Hankyu stock.

Former Hankyu and Noseden train cabs at Yoshikawa Hachiman Shrine just a little walk from Myokenguchi station. The shrine's sacred horse Izume lives here.

Just a bit further down the road you had the chance to ride the Myoken Cable funicular. Unfortunately it closed for good after 63 years of operation on December 3rd 2023 for financial reasons. I was lucky enough to ride it one day before operations ceased.

Enjoying the view from the top of Mt. Myoken just got a lot harder...

HankyuDentetsu

Superb shots. Would love to take a trip on the Nose Electric Railway one day. Huge shame about the cable funicular closing though - what a view, now much harder to get to indeed!
