kvp
This is one of the most horrible kitbashes i've ever seen on 1:1. The front of the switcher and the container car is still somewhat recognisable. 3 Link to comment
cteno4
So far none of the conveyer tyoe mow have been made in n scale, just the passer tamper by Kato and greenmax. Hoping they get to one of the ballast cleaning car sets like this that pull out ballast, clean and sort it and put it back. But they usually have multiple car and complex configurations and thus something challenging to model and make maneuverable on n scale tighter radiuses. Lots of cool machines, mcheckoff out Plasser and theure web site https://www.plassertheurer.com/en/media-library/listing-videos.html Current mow option at all close is the green max set http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10285564 Ho is a different story! Kb4iuj
Just watched the video's.... Looks like 95% of the time the thing is just shaking out dust and then shoring up where ballast needs to be at. this sort of ranks up there with the ripple strip on the edge of the highways. velotrain
As Jeff said, these are "ballast cleaning car sets . . . that pull out ballast, clean and sort it and put it back." That's what the videos are showing. I think you mean rumble strips, but don't understand the connection. Edited January 2, 2017 by velotrain Link to comment

nah00
Having watched one of these do it's thing in real life I can say it's one of the loudest things I've ever heard. I've been less than 100 feet from a Harrier taking off vertically and even closer to who knows how many helicopters taking off but the noise this thing put out was unreal. Link to comment

ToniBabelony
Helicopters are pretty loud. With low flying F15Js here, I can only imagine the (literally) deafening sound of a Harrier... Link to comment
kvp
The turbines are louder (and you need ear protection for that), but the noise spectrum is different and the ballast cleaner has a less uniform and much lower frequency pattern. Imho apples and oranges. Link to comment
