I notice he has a kink in his tail, I saw quite a few cats on Tashirojima (Cat Island) with similar injuries although it didn't seem to bother them.

 

Back in 2014 I didn't see any cats at Ogomachi but there was one roaming around Hama-Kawasaki as if he owned the place.
