ToniBabelony
Sometimes you want to explore the realm of an entire railway company, or you have the need to travel in and around a certain area. For this purpose, there are day tickets available at some railway firms to settle offset the time and costs of travelling. Personally, I'm a big fan of day tickets and frequently use some of these, as it is cheaper to use one, instead of checking in-and-out constantly and/or buying separate tickets. Below I have made a non-comprehensive list of companies and their respective day/value tickets. If you have any suggestions and/or additions, please post them below with a link to the source of the company who issues them. The examples below are non-extensive and I have only listed the most useful/practical tickets. There is also a plethora of specially tailored tickets with coupons for shops and/or special areas only. I have not listed these, but if there are questions regarding this (Kanto only), please let me know and I'll can tell if there is a special ticket available or not. If you have additions with links, please post them as well in the same format so I can simply copy and paste them in this post! --- Tokyo Metro and Toei: Tokyo Metro 24 Hour Ticket: http://www.tokyometro.jp/ticket/value/1day/#anc01 - ¥600 (children: ¥300); - Valid for all Tokyo Metro lines for 24 hours. JR 500系
Oh this is interesting! Thanks Toni! It also helps overseas travelers like us, since most of us will have the JR Pass so these private railway passes are also important so we can venture into private rail company networks without breaking the piggy bank ~ I, for one, is very interested in Odakyu private passes... Since it is my personal favorite private railway... following that is Kintetsu... Link to comment
