Questions about Tomix Dr. Yellow

I recently tested Tomix's Dr.Yellow, after Chris mentioned that both his Tomix Hikari Rail Star and his Tomix Dr. Yellow didn't run well, and while mine runs just fine, the motor did make some strange noise which I wasn't entirely happy with.

I haven't looked into it any further, it could be it just needs a little oil and grease. I got it straight out of the package without checking if it needed any maintenance. Also, trains generally like to be run in, many people suggest about half an hour in each direction.

That said, I definitely prefer the MicroAce version, but the MicroAce one is based on the series 0 shinkansen, whereas the Tomix one is based on the series 700 shinkansen. Not sure how easy it is to get the MicroAce version, they don't often re-release anything, and I'm guessing their Dr. Yellow was pretty popular.

E3 is a nice Shinkansen. Are you going with Tomix or Kato?

Im going to get the Kato 10-222 Yamagata Shinkansen E3 Tsubasa 7 car set. I was looking for the E3 Series withe the Red stripe but couldn't find it on ebay.

Hi,

maybe try here

http://www.rainbowten.co.jp/english/index.html

Kato 10-222 is available, ask to Mr.Nao (is the seller that following contacts in English, 10 years who have bought from them)

BTW it's better if you verify when a new item was released and ask to reserve one for you, sometimes all the production was sold out before released (Kato website is in english too, but Microace, Tomix, Greenmax and Hasegawa-Modemo only in japanese

price is 10% lower that regular price

Ciao

Massimo
