IST
Babysteps... I modified a little bit the Tomytec bridge set as its length not enough for a normal T-trak modul depth, so I cut a styrene sheet, painted with Tamiya road effect, added a stripe, put some short fences to the end of the bridge, tried to weather heavily: Put together a T-trak modul and glue the tracks: My plan is something like this: As the yellow and green office houses have a lot of windows I thought I would do something with the inside of the buildings. The yellow one got some painted styrene sheets: while the green one got printed pictures of offices. A little bit (khm) out of gauge as you can see on the pictures, but from normal viewing distance it is accceptable for me: And also started to experiment with weathering, I would like to achieve a not-so-plastic look, so here is a clean side of an office building and a not-so-clean side (it needs some cleaning at the brown paint drops): I would really appreciate your opinion. 16 1 Link to comment

chadbag
This week I've been working on layout the V2 lighting board, as well as some on the Tomix EF210 DCC conversion (testing something and preparing to add lights), and so tonight I decided to get some trains running around the test track and let them run a while. I had a Brawa Voith Gravita 10BB from the Swiss company PANLOG with a couple older tank cars, a KATO JRF EF66 with 3 KoKi 106 with containers, a Piko Vossloh G1206 diesel from evb logistik (not pulling anything), and the Arnold BR 152 "Porsche" livery (no consist) running. The Brawa I had done a decoder firmware update on and was testing, but mainly I ran these ones as they were the ones already out on the table. The test track is 2 double track loops. The outer loops have some unevenness where wires pass underneath and I get a lot of uncouplings of longer cars (short Era IV cars usually make it but anything longer not) so on those two outer tracks I did not bother to get out any freight wagons to pull. I plan on doing some more PCB layout for V2 light board, and work on the Tomix EF210 some more (I want to add in tail lights), and put decoders in the Tomix Hikari RailStar 700. 6 Link to comment

cteno4
Really is nice with minimum of work you can really give the building some popmand depth with a few interior bits and bobs. Great use for the Chinese architectural figures as well. They really pop with a bit of low lighting even in the day time as buildings are lit in the day, especially businesses and bigger buildings. jeff Link to comment
Sheffie
I arranged matters so that my EMU can sit in the middle of the crossover with its tail lights on, because the rear car is getting power, but without moving, because the front car is not. Yes, I have two controllers now, and the layout is now (approximately) twice as much fun. 3 2 Link to comment
Khaul
I got all the lights in module 1 to work at the same time. They also work okish, but there is room for improvement. A couple of pics. That's the street at the back. It finally has working street lights. A night snap. 17 Link to comment

Kiha66
A temporary set up with my kato Viaduct track the other day. Lotta fun for an evening of running but a bit of a pain to put away afterwards. 4 1 1 Link to comment

That was the vacuum, seems the spindle had become clogged after a few years of use and the motor had stopped turning, after digging out the grunge it seems to have gained a new, enthusastic lease of life and gone to work on dust layers hitherto missed. 2 Link to comment

Drunkenclam
Finally got the plaster to a state I was 95% happy with. If I try to go for the 100% I'll go insane or still be doing it in another 10 years. Anyhow. A bit of base coat yesterday. If time permits (Mrs Clam works Sunday night's so goes to bed in the afternoon and I get left with the energetic 2 yr old) I'll try to add some scatter and ballast. Looking at street view there are huge amounts of lineside furniture. Should I panic yet . Haha 8 Link to comment
IST
I made a temporary track in our living room just to test the sound of an E235 and recorded a short video about it: 9 Link to comment
serotta1972
Wow, that is really cool IST! I've been debating about getting the Sound Box and now maybe leaning more towards getting it. Link to comment
Drunkenclam
So the sound box takes over the speed control of the train. Doesn't that make stopping in the right place a problem? But still. Very cool. Edited April 2, 2019 by Drunkenclam Link to comment

Yeah, it is not that easy, you have to learn how to drive the train. It is fun to hear the sound of the train in case if you run only one. But it is a little bit weird if you have 2 or more running trains on the layout but you hear only one. 1 Link to comment

I'm not a fan of the empty interior look and always build something into the interior to make it look "alive" with super rough desks and people. However, this approach is grand! I love the look of the completed piece and the effect the printed photos give - in scale or no. Like you said, viewing from a distance gives it a great look and you don't really notice the scale being a bit off. (( I didn't even pick up on it until reading what you wrote, honestly! )) Totally dig it! 1 Link to comment
Sheffie
The containers are waiting in the yard, and the wagons are here to carry them to distant places. Now all we need is a lifter to load them all, and we’ll be in business. 7 Link to comment
Sheffie
I know that the paving texture isn't quite N scale, but it was a 100 yen experiment and I'm happy enough with it. Anyway, the containers found their way onto the wagons somehow... Edited April 3, 2019 by Sheffie 7 Link to comment

bill937ca
Dug out my layout building notes. Also pulling out some trains and trams for running sessions on their respective layouts. The train layout is still a work in progress so there is stuff all over the place. The train is a Kato 10-934 3-car Yamanote Line E231-500 `Rilakkuma Green Wrapping Train` and the tram a Modemo NT83 Enoden 1000 set as deliveried. Edited April 6, 2019 by bill937ca 11 Link to comment
