Sheffie
So I took the opportunity to try and figure out why this particular set of points was misbehaving. It quite often wouldn’t move the rails on the first attempt, especially when setting them to the “turn” position. Anyway, thanks to the illuminated magnifier it quickly became clear that the actuator wire had jumped out of its designated position. It’s supposed to be centrally located between the black stubs. Easy to fix with tweezers. Probably feasible with just a toothpick or screwdriver. Fun fact: Kato actually left an inspection window that lets you check the position of the actuator wire, shown here under the magnifier (between the two screws) Edited April 15, 2019 by Sheffie 4 3 Link to comment
Sheffie
Also, this happened. It has to get worse before it can get better Edited April 16, 2019 by Sheffie 4 1 1 Link to comment
Pauljag900
So I m a big fan of supporting the little guy,I bought a gantry crane from a guy making his own stuff, looked good on the pics but when it arrived it had so much waste plastic that needs cutting away it was unreal,I damaged the railings quite badly when doing so.I repaired it best I could, gave it two coats of yellow paint and heavily weathered it in an attempt to hide the fact it’s crap, looks ok so long as you do nt get too close but when I find another one similar it’s going in the bin😂😂👍 8 Link to comment
Pauljag900
With the ever increasing freight traffic at Fukuoka it has become necessary to build some more admin offices(Tomytec kimono 072-2) which will sit on the grey gravel, thus creating a construction site, also waiting for a set of ten trucks 9 Link to comment

Yes, I think it’s what Kato always had in mind when they designed the rural freight platform. It creates a great loading bay for a truck, directly behind the buffer 2 Link to comment

Pauljag900
I drew it on a piece of A4 paper first,I had 4 goes to get the proportion of the boxes etc tolook right then I used a ruler and one of these, It’s basically a paint pen,the grass is just a hairy grass mat from Gaugemaster which I glued to 1.5mm card, then stuck it to the baseboard. 2 Link to comment
