JR Shikoku: new luxury train, Shikoku Mannaka Sennen Monogatari

This one slipped under my radar.  KSB TV in Takamatsu, Kagawa has posted this news segment on their YT channel:

 

 

Looks like JR Shikoku is looking for attendants for their new (or not, trafficnews.jp link below is from March :( ) cruise train, the Shikoku Mannaka Sennen Monogatari.  It will be a 3-car set of KIHA185 DMUs.

I think I like the Iyo-Nada Monogatari a little more, but this is still really nice and as far as I know a JR Shikoku home-grown production :)

So this cruise train runs between Tadotsu and Ōboke Stations on the JR Shikoku Dosan Line. This must be building on the success of the Hikyō Torokko excursion train that also runs on this line.

Really a beautiful train. The color blending was done very well, that kind of transformation can easily go bad.

Yeah, it and the Iyo-nada Monogatari look really nice.  And they offer some variety from all the Mitooka designs.
