From October 16, 2016, the Hankai Tramway gets a Hello Kitty Loves Sumiyoshi campaign train.

That brown and pink of Hankai doesn't really go well on a train. A chocolate bar maybe, but not a train. The Smart BEST (BEMU) however looks quite okay in that livery. If you're going to make a character based train, might just do it right with a good design as well...

The Chinese and Taiwanese tourists love it.  Maybe could add those Singaporean and Indonesian tourists also.  Tourism makes the Japanese economy go around these days.
