Involved an NJT Comet V train, it hit the bumper at Hoboken station.

 

Story still developing. I guess brake fault.

Sounds like it also went thru the wall into a terminal area. 1 dead, three were reported but sounded like they backed off that, but still were looking thru wreckage.

The photo and video shows the area between the bumpers and the main building on the north eastern corner of the station. Let's hope that there won't be more dead.

The damage to the head house itself doesn't look so bad.

But even so, buildings can be rebuilt. The dead won't come back.

It could have been worse.  Because it was morning most people were on the train rather than in the stub end train shed.  This was a push-pull diesel powered train of an older design. The engineer is co-operating but in critical condition.
