scott
This page shows three Kato switches: "connector" 24-830 "selector" 24-831 "reverse" 24-832 ...but doesn't say precisely what they do. Does anybody know what these are for? Could any of them be used as alternative controllers for Unitrack turnouts? Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
Don't think they can be used for switches.. Looks like they're not momentary contacts. 1 of them seems to be 2 positions (On / Off), another 3 positions (On / Off / On), and the 3rd can switch polarity. Link to comment
bill937ca
This is something I've been looking at the last few days. 24-830 is a basic on/off switch 24-831 power A can go to either B or C 24-832 reverses the polarity of an input feed for reverse loops These indeed are switches and some sources of information. The plan is HO, but has a detailed explanation of the 24-832 used for reversing loops. http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/group.php?do=discuss&gmid=5208 Scroll down to February 15, 2010 www.katousa.com/cgi-bin/dl/dl.pl?dl.mif,HO-plan-9.pdf Link to comment
brill27mcb
Hi Bill, I was thought these were very old products, like "pre-Unitrack." They certainly do not conform to the Unitrack cabling standards. Rich K. Link to comment

They certainly do not conform to the Unitrack cabling standards. Rich K. They still show as being available and in stock, so I don't know. All three are also listed on the Kato USA web site and illustrated. Edited February 26, 2013 by bill937ca Link to comment
mamochan
From what I understand Kato USA has worked hard to make a entrance into the atlas dominated market of segmented track, these switches remind me of the atlas versions of the same products. I wonder if they are actually terminal compatible? Edited February 27, 2013 by mamochan Link to comment
