JR 500系
Oh my! Z scale beat N scale to it! http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10400769 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10400774 And through an open normal retail channel! Even comes with a starter set for those who really loved the Eva 500 series and couldn't wait for N no more... http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10400766 Edited July 6, 2016 by JR 500系 2 Link to comment

ozman2009
Very nice, and if Rokuhan's other products are anything to go by, very good quality. Link to comment
kvp
And you have to get the 5 car set, otherwise it will look like a DMU... :) Link to comment
bill937ca
Just stick the Z scale at the back of your layout for forced perspective. Link to comment
ToniBabelony
Not too bad! I wouldn't get one, despite me owning some 6.5mm gauge track, but I can vouch for the quality of Rokuhan. They're quite on par with Kato. I hope to visit their HQ in a few weeks, if not in the summer vacation. 1 Link to comment
cteno4
Really? Yeah I always get snagged looking at z scale but always manage to escape! One of these days I fear... It might start with a loop around the computer monitor and I don't want to think where it would end up leading to. I know, I know resistance is futile and all that Borg stuff. ;-p Now with the zero and eva... Jeff 2 Link to comment

westfalen
In Z scale you could get the long straight runs needed to do a Shinkansen justice that you'd need a basket ball stadium for in N scale. That's the reason I don't have many Shinkansens or run the ones I do that often, to me they look a little ridiculous running round a normal N scale layout. Link to comment
Ochanomizu
Hello, I do not see Rokuhan making a big deal about the difficulty in coloring the model either! Link to comment

kvp
Z scale is just 33% smaller than N, so you'll get 33% more space for running. In case of an oval, that comes out to be around 50% more straights thanks to smaller curves. If your space in N comes out to be barely enough to fit the train between the two curves, with Z, you will have half a train length of straight track. That's still not much to speed up and slow down. railsquid
T scale is presumably the ultimate solution for long trains in small spaces. 1 Link to comment
kvp
Yes, until an even smaller scale comes around, like H scale (H=like half a milimeter). :) :) :) Or this scale: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUoa55uBGWI 2 Link to comment
