Kitayama
12 May 2016 KiHa 54 522 I was first denied entrance to the platform as they let out departing passengers first when the arriving passangers has been checked. However, the magic word "shashin" ("Photo") gave me pre-arrival access to the platform! Distances from Takigawa, starting point of Nemuro Main Line, and to Sapporo and Tokyo. The "next station" row shows Sea of Okhotsk and Pacific Ocean!!! The end. 5 Link to comment
westfalen
When I've been out there I've really felt like I was at one of JR's remotest outposts. Link to comment
katoftw
Why weren't you allowed on the platform before the regular passenger? I cannot imagine the platform being full with passengers that there is no room for non travelers. Edited June 20, 2016 by katoftw Link to comment
westfalen
I suppose rules are rules, even 484km from head office. 1 Link to comment
Sacto1985
By the way, this zenmen tenbou video from YouTube member kiha8000 appears to be the only one I've seen from Kushiro to Nemuro on the JR Hokkaido Nemuro Main Line--taken 16 years ago. There's got to be a more modern version than this. EDIT: In fact, I did find it, taken by YouTube member yajia2801, though from Nemuro to Kushiro: The first station shown after leaving Nemuro in the second video, Higashi Nemuro, is the easternmost station of any rail line on Japan's home islands.
