I was first denied entrance to the platform as they let out departing passengers first when the arriving passangers has been checked. However, the magic word "shashin" ("Photo") gave me pre-arrival access to the platform!

Distances from Takigawa, starting point of Nemuro Main Line, and to Sapporo and Tokyo.

The "next station" row shows Sea of Okhotsk and Pacific Ocean!!!

Why weren't you allowed on the platform before the regular passenger?  I cannot imagine the platform being full with passengers that there is no room for non travelers.

By the way, this zenmen tenbou video from YouTube member kiha8000 appears to be the only one I've seen from Kushiro to Nemuro on the JR Hokkaido Nemuro Main Line--taken 16 years ago.

There's got to be a more modern version than this.

EDIT: In fact, I did find it, taken by YouTube member yajia2801, though from Nemuro to Kushiro:

The first station shown after leaving Nemuro in the second video, Higashi Nemuro, is the easternmost station of any rail line on Japan's home islands.
