Sacto1985
YouTube member OleOleSaggy just posted today a long zenmen tenbou video of a trip on an E129 Series EMU from Nagaoka to Minakami Stations and going back from Minakami to Muikamachi Stations (Muikamachi is the eastern end of the Hokuetsu Express Hokuhoku Line): This is probably the first high-quality zenmen tenbou video I've seen of a full trip on the Jōetsu Line between Minakami and Nagaoka, including going through the Shimizu (southbound) and Shin-Shimizu (northbound) Tunnels. At Minikami Station, we see the action of an 115 Series EMU heading south from the station and the former Cassiopeia trainset stopping at the station, then heading north. By the way, notice the sounds from the E129 Series EMU, including the bilingual announcements--it sounds exactly like an E233 Series EMU (after all, the E129 is essentially an E233 derivative). It's interesting to compare this against an older zenmen tenbou video of the trip from Minakami to Nagaoka, taken from a 115 Series EMU and posted on YouTube nearly five years ago: Link to comment
