Iyotetsu Dogo Onsen Station--Buses and Trams

Dogo Onsen is a vaguely Disneyesque station and terminal of the Iyotetsu (Iyo Railway) network serving tram lines, airport limousine buses, and the Botchan train simulated steam engine line. There is the station itself, a small two track yard with a Botchan engine turntable , and a small bus terminal with a bus turntable It packs a lot into a small space.

Love that bus turn-table! A thought suddenly occurred within me, is there an emergency stop switch or something, in case while turning something rushes out and is in the turning radius? I know the activation of the turn is only by a pull string switch at a pole at the driver's side...

 

Hhmmm... that orange livery of the Iyotetsu bus seems rather new... and I think we haven't gotten a model of that yet, right? All I recall of Iyotetsu model is this:

The solid orange livery is only about 1 year old.  There are Tomytec tram and train models coming out in September.  Another view of the bus turntable.

Of course, the Dogo Onsen itself is a hot spring spa.

There is also a light show on the street side of the Iyotetsu Dogo Onsen station.  Something for Jeff to work on!   :)

It is very encouraging to see more and more people paying more attention to the beautiful buses of Japan!  :)

 

All this bus turning is seriously making me wanna motorise my bus turn table....
