bikkuri bahn
It's the JR East 701 series, widely used in the Tohoku area in AC 20kv territory. Wikipedia Japan article: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/JR%E6%9D%B1%E6%97%A5%E6%9C%AC701%E7%B3%BB%E9%9B%BB%E8%BB%8A pictures: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:JR_East_701 Link to comment
scott
Thanks! That's good to know. Link to comment
Darren Jeffries
Could someone maybe expand this into an article in the JNSwiki? I note that all we have is a picture of 2 701s on the Aomori Station article here: http://wiki.jnsforum.com/wiki/Aomori_Station Link to comment
scott
...and that picture was the only reason I knew to put the 701s on the Tohoku Electric Rolling Stock page, but clearly didn't learn enough to recognize them when I saw them again. If somebody wants to translate something from the Japanese wikipedia page, great. If not, I could at least start the skeleton of the page, but I'd appreciate some help from more knowledgeable people. Also--forgot to ask before; does anybody make an n-scale model of the 701? Link to comment
scott
OK, I put up a skeleton page at: http://wiki.jnsforum.com/wiki/JR_East_701_Series Anybody's welcome to add info. I need to figure out how to get the picture(s) to show. Link to comment
