tossedman
My son's ever changing layout has migrated back from the floor to the table again. We found a plan on Kato's web site and re-created it with a few minor changes. The table is two hollow core doors covered in foam and sitting on two cheap Ikea pine tables. He likes this one. Says maybe this'll be his permanent layout. I'm not putting any money on that just yet. Just got to get it wired up and get some trains running on it now. And here it is from the other end. He got the 8 car train for Christmas, just got the the other 8 cars today. And then we went and spent the afternoon riding this thing. tossedman
And the modifications have begun. Noah's changed one station and moved another. Took out a siding because it used sketchy #4 turnouts (his words!). He's also adding a road and a tram line from the city to the station. I'm curious to see where he takes this one. The other station The tram line and road. Cheers eh, Todd Edited February 23, 2020 by tossedman Uploaded images 2 Link to comment

keiichi77
Since I wasn't graced with any boys yet (hopefully the third and last child will be a boy). I am trying to get my girls interested in Japanese trains...well any trains really...not working out to well but we just moved to larger house (hence my absence). Hoping once I actually bring my Japanese layout home the girls will get more interested. 1 Link to comment

Bernard
Todd - this is a great learning skill you are teaching your son....not only is he being creative but he is learning about wiring as well....something he'll be able to use later in life. 1 Link to comment
tossedman
So true Bernard. He's built a couple of T-Trak modules as well. Loves it. Link to comment
Staffy
This is great. Do you find he is happy with Japanese stock or does he want to run what he sees for real locally? Link to comment
tossedman
He mostly runs the Japanese trains but he's got lots of local stuff as well. Link to comment

tossedman
Well the two levels are gone. Here's the latest iteration. Problem at the moment is the station's too short for his long trains. Edited February 23, 2020 by tossedman Uploaded images 5 Link to comment

tossedman
Yup, having fun he is. It's really cold out this past week (-30°C ish) so he's been happy to work on his layouts. Link to comment
