Wakayama Dentetsu's Umeboshi Train on a test run

Add Wakayama Electric Railway to the list of operators who've gotten the Mitooka treatment.  Video at Kamayama Station:

Their fourth theme train after the Tama (Tama the cat), the Omocha (toy), and Ichigo (strawberry) trains, it's called the Umeboshi Train.  It's a play on words, replacing 干 meaning dry with 星 meaning star, although both would be read boshi in this situation.  Revenue operation will begin on June 4.

 

Edit: as kvp points out below, the previous three sets are also Mitooka designs

Imho all 4 themed trains are designed by him, including the Tama (Kishi) station building.

kvp, yes you are correct.  I guess I've come to expect his trains to be that burgundy color, or sometimes dark blue.
