Perhaps you are aware of the Japanese connection that Chile's railways have, in the form of the AEZ and AEL emu designs from the 1970's, and even earlier, the model 80 4-8-2 mountain type SL, 30 of which were built by Mitsubishi in 1952. "Metrotren" is a service between Santiago (capital of Chile) and Rancagua (capital of Region VI) and AEZ I watched many times but I never traveled in this train.
