kvp Posted April 30, 2016 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Yes, that's still the standard color for BKV suburban trains running on lines with unprotected crossings and in case of one ancient line on the wrong side. The horizontal line got wider though to improve visibility. Link to comment

I've been following their projects for years as my great grandfather worked on that line in pre-preservation days. He was mostly a guard on passenger trains but was also known to operate the signalbox at Llangollen on busy weekends. Their DMU fleet is probably one of the best in the country, at least in terms of rarity and the standard of restoration. They have the last complete surviving sets of two types and one of only two surviving trailers from another. Units come to them as a rusting metal tube on wheels and eventually roll back out as if fresh from the factory. 1 Link to comment
