EWS60008
Hi Brian, To me. This looks more like a mining type of shunter than something that would be seen in the carriage sidings or working around in the freight yards. Though I am open to correction, but mining wagons would look authentic behind this. Link to comment
marknewton
The model is based on a Sakai-built loco that ran on the fabled Kiso Forest Railway. It's real, and it was mainline power. http://tadayusaku.3.pro.tok2.com/kiso2.html All the best, Mark. Link to comment

Tried to look at the link but my WOT toolbar warns me of that site having a poor reputation and blocks access to it (I'm a firefox user) . So I can't read it. Could someone post details about the actual prototype here in this thread as I would like to know more about these shunters without my browser throwing a fit! . Cheers Ash Link to comment
marknewton
C4, 762mm gauge diesel loco built by Sakai Heavy Industry, developing 175 hp. As I noted earlier, these locos were not shunters, but mainline power on the Kiso forestry line after dieselisation. All the best, Mark. Link to comment
Guest ___
It's similar to a cab-forward version of a Plymouth or Davenport industrial switcher. We have three at my little RR here. Link to comment
EWS60008
Thanks for posting the pics of those and pardon my ignorance of me thinking it was a shunter in the first place . I noticed that the semaphore signals on the third photo down look intriguing similar to the remaining ones in the UK! . Link to comment
