stb
Hi Guys...Would somebody please tell me how to wire up the above crossover(in detail) I have a Gaugemaster Prodigy Advance 02 DCC. When I change from the outer loop to the inner loop the loco shorts on the crossing. Trevor Link to comment
kvp
In DCC, track polarity should match on both loops. This is true for both the double crossover, the single crossovers and two normal turnouts used together as a single Z crossover. Imho you should also add feed points to all 4 ends of the turnout to eliminite the isolator in the middle rails (all should have the same polarity). ps: Quick fix: reverse the polarity of one of your loops. If you don't have ballon loops or other special track arrangements that need an auto reversing circuit, then you should be fine. If this doesn't work, please post a track plan or photo of your layout, so we could help. 1 Link to comment
stb
By reversing one of the loops polarity I guess I can reprogram my locos to run backwards(You know what I mean) on that loop. Will it work? Link to comment
kvp
In DCC each loco has dedicated forward and reverse and track polarity doesn't matter. You can change the polarity back and forth and they would still go the same direction. 1 Link to comment
stb
I am new to model railways even though I'm 66. I last had a "train" 53 years ago. And DCC wasn't even dreamt about then. But I'm learning! Thankyou KVP for your education. Link to comment
