nik_n_dad
hello. Our updating n-scale layout is mostly kato unitrack, but for a few bridges we'll have to resort to a track without the roadbed, such as Atlas sectional track, Atlas flexible track, Micro-engineering track, or Peco track (we had a semi-custom trestle built for us and the builder used micro-engineering track. We're also going to use some european bridges from "Hack" that will need some sort of roadbed-less track) What's the best way to attached unitrack to these other brands? Do we need the kato snap-track conversion piece? Or just joiners? If just joiners, do we use unijoiners or the joiners from the brand we're attaching to? TIA Link to comment
kvp
Most standard joiners work as long as both tracks fit and are code 80. Peco is a good example, both code 80 and code 55 works (peco code 55 is just code 80 sunk into the ties). For the unijoiners, the easiest seems to be to remove the metal joiner from the plastic clip and cut the plastic in half to fill the gaps in the unitrack side. Then use the two removed metal joiners to join the ballastless track the conventional way. Link to comment
westfalen
Just use ordinary rail joiners, the so-called by Kato USA 'snap track' conversion track is actually for joining Unitrack to Tomix track. Link to comment
HantuBlauLOL
unitrack joiners would work.. dunno about others Link to comment
