Robert46
Hi Everyone, I just realized that my East-i on the car number 3 had a yellowish spot around the corner of left side body. The pictures are attached. At first I thought maybe I touched the body with oiled/dirty finger.. but later I checked my previous photos of the item arrival and noted that this inconsistent color was already exist from the very first time I received it, but I didn't notice too much. Too excited with having this new model instead.. Kindly let me know how can I solve this issue? I am not sure if this was dirty or there was something wrong from the factory release paint job so the white color is not perfectly done in the car number 3.. Although we might think it seems to be like a pre-weathered model.. but not seems good to me.. :) Many thanks in advance for your help and tips.. Edited February 1, 2016 by Robert46 Link to comment
HantuBlauLOL
looks like it was made from cheap plastic.. my 500 series by tomix only had the diaphragm yellowing after roughly 7 years. btw yellowing is a common problem for white plastic. Robert46
Well, I don't know about plastic quality.. but one thing for sure is that the item is new, but already have issue with yellowing... Link to comment
katoftw
Kato has a same issue with some the Orient Express cars. The shells were replaced by Kato. Link to comment
Sascha
So is t here a way to prevent it from happening? Maybe put a layer of clear paint on it? Link to comment
kvp
These are probably not classical yellowings, but paint errors. The Kato orient car was missing a layer of paint and probably the yellow spot is just too thin paint or too fast painting, so the base color of the car is shining through. I think it might worth to ask the manufacturer for a replacement shell or for servicing by them, even if it's not free. (if the car was bought 2nd hand or after a long shelf life, then a spare might not be available) Link to comment

Robert46
Thanks everyone for the replies. I guess so that it is a paint error.. Will try to contact the retailer if it's possible to be replaced or get the new one from MicroAce (shell only), otherwise it's okay anyway with what I got.. :) Link to comment
