cteno4
I could have sworn i posted about him last december when profit of the way posted it on yahoo jtrains, but cant find the post! might have been bright shiny object syndrome here... anyway from Profit of the Way on yahoo Jtrains group (great group and great poster) Hisashi Fukushima is an autistic artist. His condition makes social interactions with others at times difficult. But Godhas gifted him photographic memory and better yet, the talentof accurately rendering the memorized scenes onto canvas. He is a good artist in the sense that he draws our attentionto details and angles where we do not expect to find beauty in.It is hard to believe all these are paintings, not photos:http://image.search.yahoo.co.jp/search?rkf=2&ei=UTF-8&p=%E7%A6%8F%E5%B3%B6%E5%B0%9A+%E7%B5%B5Report by the local NHK station: http://www.nhk.or.jp/saitama/ana-blog/120420_01.htmlHe also makes model trains using cardboard. His works are on display at this coffee house:http://galeriadecafelimon.web.fc2.com/fukushima-hisashi.html11 minutes from Seibu Ikebukuro Line Hannoh Station by bus. 2 Link to comment

Davo Dentetsu
We used one of the paintings as a Facebook page cover photo on Japanese Trains, with a link to the RocketNews story from a couple of years back. Link to comment
