Keikyu
G'day everyone. I've had an idea for a map for a game. A train station might make an interesting place to survive an onslaught of cloned monsters. But I digress. I'm going to place it in Japan, so with Japanese rail signs, buildings, and such. I'd like to have a train as a map object and all that. So, I am looking for some dimensions. Specifically for catenary. I'd like to know how far apart rail lines are placed from each other, how high the wires are from the ground, and how high catenary poles are. I'm not aiming for absolute realism, I know that it'd vary from company to company but yeah, just some general info for catenary would be nice so i can kinda average it out. Thanks Link to comment
kvp
You can use the dimensions for Kato or Tomix catenary and just multiply by 150 to get the 1:1 sizes. Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
The standard height of catenary trolley wire (measured from the top of the rail) is 5100mm, with a minimum height of 4550mm, and a maximum of 5400mm. Loading gauge of trains, specifically rooftop height (for non-shinkansen) is max 4100mm. This will give you the range for pantograph height, which is of course variable. Link to comment
