tossedman
Saw this the other day. Looks cool! Be great for buildings and even terrain over small areas. Be neat to see what it could do for roads and sidewalks. Only costs US $6000.00! http://makezine.com/2016/01/06/mcor-arke-brings-full-color-3d-printing-desktop/ Here's another showing the really expensive Mcor Isis. It's tens of thousands of $$$. Cheers eh, Todd Edited January 7, 2016 by tossedman 2 Link to comment
cteno4
Todd, hey the kid does not need a college education, they are over rated and you could buy printers like this instead! ;-p jeff 1 Link to comment
kvp
It's comparable in quality to shapeways sandstone which is also available in color. There is a small range of buildings and streets available with this sandstone material. The name tells the surface quality. This is actually the trick as only a porous material is able to absorb the inkjet ink. Imho uv cured colored plastic is way better. Sadly even shapeways doesn't offer it. The printer costs are in the millions. The second best is super fine translucent with uv cured surface paint from a 3d surfce printer. The latter is already in use by fleischmann and maerklin for small run n and z scale trains. This is available as shapeways + any 3rd party surface printing service. Link to comment
